Previously: When nineteen-year-old Liam stepped into the path of a lethal, charging rodeo bull, the crowd screamed in horror—until he held up a simple red bandana and whispered a name.

A Dark Legacy Revealed

The stunned silence of the arena was shattered as Hank scrambled over the metal barrier, dropping into the dirt with a heavy wooden prod in hand. Two armed security guards followed close behind him, their rifles raised. "Get away from that beast, Liam!" Hank bellowed, his face twisted in a mixture of rage and sheer panic. "He’s a killer! Guards, take the shot before he tramples the kid!"

Liam quickly stepped in front of Ranger, shielding the massive black bull with his own body. The bull let out a low, rumbling huff, resting its heavy chin near Liam's shoulder, seeking comfort rather than aggression.

"Don't shoot!" Liam yelled, his voice cracking. "He's not wild, Hank! You know exactly who he is! This is my father's bull!"

Hank paused, his eyes darting nervously toward the spectators who were leaning over the rails, whispering. "You're delusional, kid," Hank sneered, taking another step forward, his knuckles white around the wooden prod. "Your father died broke. This bull belongs to the rodeo syndicate. Now step aside before we force you."

But as Liam stood close to Ranger, the golden evening light caught the beast's left flank. Beneath the freshly painted rodeo symbols, Liam saw a raised, scarred brand. It was a stylized 'T' intertwined with a star—his father Thomas’s personal ranch brand. Over it, someone had crudely branded Hank's own initials, attempting to erase the past.

"You stole him,"
Liam whispered, the realization hitting him like a physical blow.
"When my dad got sick and couldn't pay his medical bills, you didn't help him. You took Ranger, forged the ownership papers, and sold him to the high-stakes rodeo circuit to line your own pockets!"

Hank’s face went pale, then darkened with malice. He realized that the truth was on the verge of being exposed to the entire town. He raised his prod, signaling the guards. "He's trespassing and interfering with a dangerous animal," Hank lied coldly. "Clear the arena. By any means necessary."
