Previously: When George returned early from a business trip, he expected a warm welcome. Instead, he found his new wife forcing his elderly mother to scrub the marble floors on her knees.

George rushed to his mother's side, kneeling in the dirt to help her up. Clara clung to his sleeve, her body shaking violently.

"George, please, don't make a scene,"
she whispered, terrified of the consequences. But George was past the point of keeping the peace. He glared up at his wife, his eyes burning with a protective rage.
"How dare you treat my mother this way in her own home?"
he hissed.

Audrey quickly recovered her composure, smoothing down her blue dress. She forced a hollow, sweet smile.

"Darling, you're overreacting. Your mother was simply being careless and spilled her tea. I was just teaching her a lesson about respecting our beautiful home. After all, someone has to keep this place in order while you're away,"
she said smoothly, as if her cruelty was a civic duty.

The Truth Unleashed

Before George could speak, Ethan finally found his courage.

"That's a lie, Dad!"
the young man yelled, stepping forward.
"As soon as you left, Audrey fired the cleaning staff. She made Grandma do all the heavy chores, cooking, and cleaning. She told us that if we said a single word to you, she would convince you to write us out of your will and throw us onto the streets!"

George felt a sick sensation in the pit of his stomach. He looked at Audrey, who merely smirked. She didn't deny it. Instead, she stepped closer, her heels clicking loudly on the marble.

"So what if I did?"
she whispered maliciously.
"You signed the prenuptial agreement, George. If you divorce me, I get half of this estate and ten million dollars. You can't touch me without ruining yourself. So, I suggest you tell your mother to finish cleaning up, and let's go have dinner."
She genuinely believed she was untouchable, holding the legal document over his head like a sword.
