Previously: When Helena, the devoted nanny, collapses in the grand hallway, a dropped locket reveals a shocking photo of her employer, unlocking a web of dark family secrets.

Secrets Laid Bare

Before Richard could process the shocking sight of his own photograph inside his nanny's locket, the heavy oak doors at the end of the hall swung open. Eleanor Sterling, Richard's formidable mother, stepped into the light. Her eyes locked onto the scene with cold disdain.

"I knew we shouldn't have trusted her,"

Eleanor sneered, her voice dripping with venom.

"She is a fraud, Richard! She's been plotting to worm her way into our family. Get her out of this house immediately!"

But Richard ignored his mother. He gently laid Helena down and took the locket from Leo's hand. As he turned it over, his fingers brushed against an engraving on the back: To Clara, My Forever Love. Richard's heart stopped. Clara was his late wife, who had tragically passed away three years ago in a car accident. This locket had been Clara's most prized possession—one that had vanished on the night of her death.

Helena stirred, coughing weakly as she forced her eyes open. Her gaze met Richard's, filled with pain but burning with determination.

"Clara... Clara was my sister,"

Helena whispered, her voice rasping.

"I changed my name to get this job. I had to protect Leo."

Richard stared at her, his mind reeling. Clara had been forced to cut ties with her family by Eleanor's demands. But the revelations were far from over. Helena struggled to sit up, pointing a trembling hand at Eleanor.

"She didn't die in an accident, Richard. Clara wrote to me before she died. She was being poisoned. And now, your mother is doing the same to me. The tea she gives me every afternoon... it's killing me."

The hallway fell into a suffocating silence. Richard slowly stood up, turning to face his mother, his eyes burning with a dangerous fury.
