She has been tracking my phone, listening to my calls, and she threatened to put you in a state asylum if I didn't sign over your house to her. I had to make her believe I hated you. I had to push you away so she wouldn't be suspicious. This money is everything I have left. Take it and leave the city tonight. Do not look back. I love you."

Nancy’s heart shattered. Her son wasn't abandoning her; he was sacrificing his own life and freedom to protect her from his ruthless, greedy wife, Vanessa.
