Richard Vance, the notorious and ruthless CEO of Vance Enterprises, stopped dead in his tracks. His cold, calculating eyes locked onto Lucas, and for a rare moment, the billionaire businessman looked completely stunned. He looked at his daughter, Emma, and then back to Lucas, the underpaid junior analyst he had berated in a board meeting just forty-eight hours prior.

"You think you can just slide into my family, Lucas?" Richard sneered, his voice dripping with venom. "You are a nobody at my company. You live paycheck to paycheck. If you think you're marrying my daughter for a shortcut to my fortune, you are sorely mistaken."

Lucas felt a wave of anger wash over his initial shock. He loved Emma for who she was, completely unaware of her connection to the billionaire tycoon. Before Lucas could speak, Richard leaned in, delivering a brutal ultimatum.
