Captain Robert stood like an immovable wall, his arms crossed over his chest. He had seen thousands of passengers in his career, but the sheer terror radiating from the young woman in the grey hoodie stopped him instantly. He looked from Thomas's aggressive posture to the stark, unmistakable bruise coloring Sarah's jawline.

"Is there a problem here, sir?" Robert asked, his voice calm, steady, and carrying the undeniable weight of command.

Thomas sneered, stepping forward to try and push past the pilot. "Out of my way, Captain. This is my wife, and we have a flight to catch. I suggest you get back into your cockpit and do your job."

Instead of backing down, Captain Robert took a half-step forward, shielding Sarah. "My job is the safety of everyone on this aircraft, sir. And right now, this lady does not look like she is boarding of her own free will. Ma'am, are you okay?"

Sarah looked up, her eyes wide with a mixture of hope and sheer panic. Thomas's grip on her wrist tightened visibly. "She is fine! She’s just afraid of flying," Thomas lied smoothly, though his eyes burned with rage. "I demand you let us board immediately, or I will have your wings for this!"

But Captain Robert wasn't intimidated by empty threats of wealthy men. He caught the eye of a flight attendant behind him and gave a subtle nod. "Call airport security," he instructed quietly. Thomas’s face went pale. He knew that if the authorities arrived, the carefully constructed facade of his perfect life would crumble. He began to drag Sarah backward, attempting to flee back into the terminal before the police could arrive. But Robert stepped out of the jet bridge, keeping a close eye on them, refusing to let the abusive husband escape into the crowd.
