The Police Unleashed Their Fiercest K-9s on Me, But the Dogs Refused to Attack
The Betrayal on the Drill Yard
The rain fell in relentless, heavy sheets, drumming against the cracked asphalt of the precinct’s drill yard. Under the overcast autumn sky, the air was bitter and smelled of wet pavement and ozone. Emily stood near the center of the yard, wearing a charcoal gray jumpsuit that offered little protection against the biting cold. Her platinum blonde bob was plastered to her forehead, but her gaze remained unwavering as she stared at the two men standing across from her.
Officer Charles and Officer Walker held the straining, heavy-duty leashes of four massive Belgian Malinois. These were not ordinary dogs; they were the precinct's elite tactical K-9 unit, trained to chase down the most dangerous fugitives. Tonight, however, their targets were not criminals. They had been brought out to intimidate Emily, who had spent the last week trying to expose the deep-seated corruption within the department.

"This is your last warning, Emily," Charles shouted over the howling wind. "Hand over the evidence your brother left behind, or we let them go."
Emily didn't flinch. She knew these dogs better than anyone; she had been their lead trainer before Charles had her framed and suspended. When Emily remained silent, Charles sneered and unclipped the heavy brass clasps. "Attack!" he commanded, releasing the beasts.
The four dogs charged across the wet asphalt, their jaws open, their paws splashing through puddles. But as they neared Emily, something miraculous happened. The ferocious barking ceased. Instead of attacking, the dogs instantly slowed their pace, circling her protectively. Zeus, the alpha, pressed his head against her hand, while the others turned to face the officers, growling fiercely.
"They're... they're guarding her?" Charles stammered, his face turning pale as he pointed a trembling finger.
Walker stepped back, his eyes wide with utter shock. "How did she do that?" he whispered in disbelief. Emily raised her hand in a quiet, commanding gesture, and the dogs stood in perfect, silent formation. Walking past the stunned handlers, she looked Charles in the eye.
"They were never yours to control,"she said coldly.
