The next morning, the rain had cleared, leaving the city streets glistening under a bright sun. Inside Midnight Harbor Cafe, Thomas was enjoying a quiet morning, humming to himself as he brewed a fresh pot of coffee. The bell above the door chimed, and Thomas put on his best professional smile. But the smile instantly froze on his face. Walking through the door was Leo, dressed in a dry, clean suit, accompanied by Marcus Vance. Behind them stood two men in sharp business attire holding briefcases.

"I thought I told you that you were fired,"

Thomas sneered, his eyes darting nervously to Marcus.

"And we don't allow vagrants in here."

Marcus stepped forward, his posture radiating immense power.

"I am not a vagrant, Thomas. My name is Marcus Vance, and as of two hours ago, my firm has purchased the entire commercial block, including this cafe."

The manager's face drained of color as one of the attorneys handed him a stack of legal documents. Thomas fumbled with the papers, his hands shaking violently as he realized the gravity of his mistake.

"You see,"

Marcus continued,

"I don't tolerate cruelty in my establishments. Your lease is terminated, and you are relieved of your duties immediately."

Thomas looked pleadingly at Leo, but Leo remained silent. The heartless manager packed his things in shameful silence and slunk out the back door. Marcus turned to Leo, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

"Leo, I want you to run this place. I will fully fund its renovation, and you will have complete creative control as the new general manager, with a salary that reflects your true worth. You showed me humanity when I was at my lowest."

Tears welled in Leo's eyes as he shook Marcus's hand. He had risked everything to do the right thing, and in doing so, he had unlocked a future he never thought possible. In a world where you can be anything, kindness remains the most valuable currency of all.
