Previously: When Liam stepped onto the ballroom floor in a faded coat to ask Clara for a dance, her wealthy father Charles tried to stop him. But Liam knew a secret that would change everything.

A Shocking Revelation

Clara's hand trembled as she reached toward Liam. For two long years, she had felt like a ghost in her own home, but Liam's presence brought a sudden, electric spark of hope that she thought had died forever. But before their fingers could meet, Charles snapped. He grabbed Clara’s wrist, pulling her back forcefully, and barked a harsh command to the security guards standing nearby.

"Get this man out of my sight!" Charles roared. Two burly guards immediately grabbed Liam, pinning his arms behind his back. Clara screamed for them to stop, but her father ignored her cries, leaning down to whisper that the stranger was a dangerous fraud trying to exploit her family's wealth.

As Liam was dragged toward the exit, his sleeve pulled back, revealing a tarnished silver bracelet adorned with a single blue sapphire. Clara’s breath caught in her throat. She recognized it instantly—it was her late mother’s bracelet, which had mysteriously vanished from the wreckage of the car crash that had claimed her mother’s life and left Clara paralyzed.

"Look at the bracelet, Charles!" Liam shouted, struggling against the tight grip of the guards. "Ask yourself how I have it!"

Charles froze. The color drained from his face as he stared at the silver band. He raised a hand, signaling the guards to halt. "Where did you get that?" Charles whispered, his voice suddenly stripped of all its authority and power.

"Your wife gave it to me," Liam declared, his voice echoing in the silent ballroom. "On the night of the crash. I was the paramedic who pulled Clara from the burning vehicle. Her mother gave me this and made me promise to find Clara when she was ready to live again."

The guests murmured in shock, but Charles’s expression quickly hardened from fear into pure fury. He demanded the guards throw Liam out, refusing to listen to another word. Clara realized with a sinking heart that her father wasn't trying to protect her from a stranger—he was trying to hide a dark truth about the night of the accident.
