Previously: When the school's most popular bully tried to humiliate Amber in the restroom, she didn't expect the quiet girl to fight back with a deadly family secret.

The Truth in the Office

The aftermath of the restroom fight was swift and chaotic. Within ten minutes, Amber was sitting in the principal’s office, facing a furious Mrs. Vance, Lauren’s mother and the president of the school board. Lauren sat next to her mother, crying theatrical tears, the red lipstick cross still faintly visible on her forehead despite her attempts to scrub it off. The two other girls stood behind them, looking thoroughly intimidated.

"I want her expelled immediately!" Mrs. Vance demanded, her voice echoing off the mahogany walls. "She is a violent delinquent who assaulted my daughter and her friends without provocation. Look at what she did!" Principal Higgins looked nervously between the powerful school board president and Amber, who sat perfectly still, her hands folded in her lap.

Amber didn't blink. She looked directly at Mrs. Vance, ignoring Lauren completely.

"You should be more worried about what your husband did, Mrs. Vance,"
Amber said, her voice remarkably calm. The room went instantly cold. Mrs. Vance’s dramatic outrage suddenly faltered, a flicker of panic crossing her eyes before she masked it with anger.

Amber pulled a small, sealed manila envelope from her school bag and placed it on the principal's desk. "My father didn't die of a heart attack last year," Amber continued, her voice tightening with emotion. "He was an undercover detective investigating the massive embezzlement scheme at the Vance Corporation. Your husband framed my father, ruining his reputation and driving him to the grave to cover his own tracks."

Lauren looked at her mother in confusion, but Mrs. Vance’s face had gone completely pale. The quiet girl they had bullied for months was actually the daughter of the man who had almost brought down their family empire. Amber had spent the last year gathering the remaining pieces of her father's investigation, waiting for the right moment to strike back.
