The Restroom Confrontation

The fluorescent lights of the Oakridge High School girls' restroom flickered, casting a sterile glow over the cold green tiles. Alyssa stood pinned against the sink, her breath shallow but controlled. Chelsea, the school's undisputed queen bee, held a tube of crimson lipstick like a weapon. Flanking her were Chloe and Harper, holding Alyssa's arms with tight, spiteful grips. The air was thick with the scent of cheap perfume and malice.

Chelsea leaned in close, a cruel smirk playing on her lips. She pressed the red lipstick against Alyssa's forehead, dragging it across her skin in harsh, deliberate strokes.

"Now everyone will know what you are,"
Chelsea whispered, her voice dripping with venom. The other girls giggled, anticipating the tears that usually followed their torment.

But Alyssa didn't cry. Instead, she closed her eyes, taking a deep, centering breath. For months, she had tolerated their whispers, their shoved shoulders in the hallway, and their petty rumors. Her father had always taught her that violence was a last resort, but he had also taught her how to survive. In a fraction of a second, Alyssa's posture shifted. Her muscles tensed, and with an explosive, fluid spin, she broke free from the girls' grip.

Using the momentum of her turn, Alyssa delivered a swift elbow block to Chloe's chest, sending her stumbling back. Before Harper could react, Alyssa swept her leg, knocking her off balance. Chelsea gasped, raising her hands in defense, but Alyssa caught her wrist, twisting it just enough to force Chelsea to her knees on the damp tiled floor. The entire flurry of blocks and strikes took less than three seconds. The three bullies lay dazed and groaning on the floor.

Alyssa stood defiantly over them, her expression cold and unyielding. She slowly knelt beside Chelsea, who was trembling, her confidence entirely shattered. Alyssa picked up the fallen lipstick, unscrewed it, and drew a bold red cross on Chelsea’s forehead. Looking down at her, she said coldly,

"You wrote the wrong name."
