Previously: A condescending car salesman insults a coal miner, only to be stunned when the miner reveals he's paying cash for a supercar. The CEO then steps in to set the record straight.

The CEO's Judgment

Armand Dubois stumbled backward, his carefully cultivated composure shattering like cheap glass. His manicured hands trembled as he clutched his silk tie, cold sweat mingling with the persistent drizzle on his paling forehead. “This is impossible… you’re an illiterate coal digger, you must have stolen this blood money to humiliate our brand!” he shrieked, his voice a shrill testament to his unraveling reality. The accusation stung, not for myself, but for the years of relentless toil, the sacrifices whispered only to the darkness of the mines. Tears welled, blurring the neon glow of the showroom, but my weathered face remained a mask of stoic resolve. This wasn’t about pride; it was about Sarah, my bright, brilliant daughter, who deserved more than a father’s soot-stained hands.

“Dubois, shut your insolent mouth! Liam is the hero who worked eighteen-hour shifts in my father's mines to save this company from bankruptcy, and he is our most honored VIP!”

Just as Armand’s disbelief threatened to spill into a full-blown meltdown, the roar of an engine announced a new arrival. A gleaming midnight-black prototype supercar screeched to a halt, its ABS brakes hissing through the puddles. Julian Sterling, the CEO himself, emerged, a figure of commanding presence in a tailored charcoal trench coat. He strode through the rain with purposeful urgency, his gaze locking onto Armand. With a sudden, arresting velocity, he grabbed Armand’s wrist in a punishing grip, forcing the salesman’s arm down with an audible gasp of pain. Sterling’s voice boomed, a wave of righteous fury washing over the scene. “Dubois, shut your insolent mouth! Liam is the hero who worked eighteen-hour shifts in my father’s mines to save this company from bankruptcy, and he is our most honored VIP!” The words hit Armand like a physical blow. All the color drained from his face, his jaw trembling, his knees visibly buckling under the weight of Sterling’s pronouncement and the dawning horror of his own colossal misjudgment. He was petrified, a statue of ruined arrogance in the cold, wet street.
