My Rich Son Tripped Me in the Hospital to Impress His Spoiled Wife
A Cruel Welcome
Dorothy clutched the paper grocery bag tightly to her chest, her heart fluttering with a mixture of excitement and anxiety. Inside the bag were fresh red apples and a jar of homemade chicken soup, prepared with love. She had spent her last remaining dollars on bus fare to reach the pristine, gleaming corridors of the city's finest hospital. Her son, James, and his wife, Hannah, had just welcomed their first child. Despite the cold relationship they shared, Dorothy hoped the birth of a new generation would finally heal the rift between them.
As she approached the glass-walled VIP maternity suite, she spotted James standing outside. He looked immaculate in his tailored charcoal suit, a stark contrast to Dorothy’s worn beige woolen coat. But as soon as James locked eyes with his mother, his expression hardened into disgust. He didn't see a loving grandmother; he saw an embarrassment to his newly acquired high-society status.
"What are you doing here, Mother? I told you not to come,"James hissed, stepping forward to block her path. Dorothy took a step back, startled.
"I just wanted to bring some soup and see my grandson, James,"she whispered, her voice trembling.
Without a shred of remorse, James took a swift, malicious step forward. Extending his foot, he kicked Dorothy’s leg. The sudden impact caught her off guard. Dorothy stumbled heavily, her boots losing traction on the highly polished tiles. She fell forward with a sickening thud, the paper bag bursting open. Red apples and groceries scattered wildly across the pristine floor.
Through the clear glass of the suite, Hannah watched the entire scene unfold. Holding the newborn baby, the young strawberry-blonde woman gasped dramatically. But instead of showing horror or rushing to help, Hannah’s face contorted into a mocking grin. She began to clap her hands in slow, sarcastic applause, celebrating Dorothy's humiliation. James stood by coldly, looking down at his mother as if she were nothing but trash.
