Previously: When a disgraced ballerina is forced to serve champagne at a high-society gala, a sudden challenge from a handsome guest forces her to dance—and expose the woman who ruined her life.

The Mask Begins to Slip

The ballroom fell into a stunned silence as Chloe moved. Her dance was not just a performance; it was a story of betrayal, pain, and resilience. Every leap was effortless, every extension breathtakingly precise. The pianist, who had been briefed beforehand, played a dramatic, sweeping melody that perfectly matched her fierce energy. The guests stood frozen, captivated by the raw emotion of the server who danced like a seasoned prima ballerina. Alex watched with rapt attention, his fascination turning into a deep, searching curiosity.

Victoria, however, was trembling. She rushed toward the stage, her voice high and panicked. "Stop this! This is highly inappropriate! Security, get this woman out of here!" she demanded, but none of the guards moved. They had been given strict orders by the venue owner to let the performance continue.

When the final note echoed through the hall, Chloe struck a powerful pose in the center of the spotlight, her breathing shallow but her eyes burning with triumph. The crowd erupted into thunderous applause. Alex stepped forward, clapping slowly as he looked between his pale fiancée and the mysterious server.

"Who are you really?" Alex asked, his voice low but demanding. "You don't dance like someone who just picked this up as a hobby."

Victoria quickly stepped between them, her face contorted in anger. "She's a fraud, Alex! She’s an unstable girl who was kicked out of our ballet academy for being disruptive. She's obsessed with me and is trying to ruin our night!"

Before Chloe could answer, a powerful voice boomed through the ballroom. Marcus Vance, the legendary director of the Metropolitan Ballet and the host of the gala, stepped onto the stage with a microphone. "Actually, Victoria, she is not a fraud. And she was never kicked out. In fact, she is the guest of honor tonight."

The room went dead silent. Marcus pointed to the massive projector screen hanging behind the stage. "Before we begin our charity auction, I think we should look at some security footage from twelve months ago."
