The Rooftop Secret That Pushed a Devoted Wife Over the Edge
A Rainy Night of Reckoning
The rain fell in relentless sheets over the city, turning the rooftop terrace of the penthouse suite into a slick, dangerous stage. Inside, the soft jazz and warm laughter of the annual charity gala continued, but out on the wet stone balcony, a storm of a different kind was brewing. Chloe, her magnificent magenta evening gown soaked and clinging to her frame, stared at her former best friend, Sabrina. Sabrina stood defiantly in her tailored white pantsuit, her dark hair plastered to her face, her eyes cold and unyielding.
"You thought you could take everything from me and I would just stay silent?" Chloe screamed over the howling wind.
Sabrina didn't answer with words. With a sudden, vicious lunge, she closed the distance between them. The confrontation turned physical in an instant. Sabrina swung, her fist connecting with Chloe's jaw. Chloe stumbled back, but Sabrina was relentless. She grabbed Chloe by her blonde hair, dragging her toward the stone balustrade. With a desperate surge of malice, Sabrina shoved Chloe over the ledge. Chloe screamed, her fingers barely catching the freezing wet stone of the balcony's edge as she dangled above the foggy abyss of the city skyline.
Before Sabrina could celebrate, Marcus, dressed in a sharp tuxedo, burst through the French doors. Seeing his wife hanging by her fingertips, he let out a guttural cry and leaped over the balustrade to attack Sabrina. But Sabrina was prepared. Anticipating his clumsy, rage-fueled charge, she dropped low and swept his legs out from under him. Marcus crashed heavily onto the wet pavement, his breath escaping him in a sharp gasp. Nearby, a group of formal party guests who had wandered near the glass doors watched in sheer, paralyzed horror, their champagne glasses slipping from their hands, unable to comprehend the violence unfolding before them in the pouring rain.
