Rude Store Manager Kicks Out Poor Grandfather, Unaware He Actually Owns the Entire Boutique
Previously: When a snobbish saleswoman and her arrogant manager humiliate an elderly man and his granddaughter, they have no idea they are insulting the very founder of their luxury jewelry empire.
The Hidden Face in the Portrait
Richard’s words hung in the air, heavy with malice. Lily whimpered slightly, burying her face into Arthur’s sleeve, but the old man remained perfectly still. He slowly turned his gaze toward the elegant oil painting on the wall. The portrait depicted a handsome, sharp-featured young man in a tailored tuxedo, holding a jeweler’s loupe with an air of brilliant confidence. It was a painting commissioned nearly forty years ago, representing the birth of a multi-million-dollar jewelry empire.
Arthur looked at the painting, then back at Richard. A faint, knowing smile played on his lips, though his eyes remained serious.
It is a very impressive portrait,
Arthur said softly, his voice calm and steady.
But I believe the lighting in this corner does it a disservice. And if I recall correctly, the artist made the chin just a bit too sharp.
Richard let out a harsh, mocking laugh, shaking his head in disbelief.
Are you losing your mind, old man? You’re talking about a legendary figure as if you knew him. I’m not going to ask you again. Get out of my store before I call security.
Richard reached forward, his hand aggressively grabbing Arthur’s shoulder to force him toward the exit. But before he could push the elderly man, a sharp voice echoed from the security desk near the entrance.
Hey! Get your hands off him right now!
Thomas, the store’s veteran security guard who had just returned from his lunch break, rushed forward. His face was pale, and his hands were trembling as he shoved himself between Richard and the elderly man. Richard frowned, deeply annoyed by the intervention.
Thomas, what is the meaning of this? I am trying to remove these vagrants!
Thomas turned to Richard, his voice shaking with absolute terror and respect.
Are you insane, Richard? That is Mr. Vance! He is the owner of this entire company!
”He is the owner of this entire company!
