Previously: A cold winter night turns terrifying when a wealthy developer assaults an elderly woman. Just as she's about to be struck, a mysterious biker intervenes, leading to a showdown that will change their lives forever.

An Unlikely Protector Emerges

Victoria’s fist plunged downward in a vicious arc, aimed directly at my temple. Time seemed to slow as I braced for the inevitable blow. But then, a massive, calloused hand flashed out of the snowstorm, intercepting her wrist with a concussive, bone-jarring clap. The force of the impact stopped her strike dead in its tracks. Standing between us, a towering silhouette against the blizzard, was Salvatore Moretti. His scarred jaw clenched like iron, his grip locking Victoria’s wrist with relentless strength. Snow dusted his distressed leather jacket, and his steel-gray eyes, usually filled with a quiet intensity, now blazed with cold fury. I looked up at him, clutching my chest, a wave of tearful relief washing over me.

“You lay one finger on that old woman, and I snap your wrist like dry kindling,” Salvatore Moretti growled, his voice a menacing, subterranean baritone.

Victoria’s eyes bulged in paralyzed shock. Her manicured lips parted in a choked gasp as the color drained from her face. Salvatore executed a precise, relentless counter-twist of her captured wrist. The red leather glove creaked under the excruciating torque, her forearm tendons straining beneath the pale skin. Her designer heels slipped on the slushy stone, and both her knees crashed to the ground with a wet, heavy thud. She let out a breathless, shrill whimper.

“Let go of me, you psychotic brute, do you have any idea who I am?!” Victoria Sterling cried, her voice cracking with agony and humiliation.

Salvatore’s brow furrowed, his jaw clenching with lethal, emotionless stoicism. Cold steam billowed from his flared nostrils as he held her gaze, unwavering. He wrenched her twisted arm further behind her shoulder blades, forcing her face down to within inches of my worn boots on the frozen limestone steps. The biting blizzard swirled frantically around his unmovable silhouette.

“Beg her on your knees for forgiveness, or I strip every building you own before sunrise,” Salvatore commanded, his voice razor-cold and final.

Victoria’s teeth ground together, smudged mascara and tears of agony streaking her face. She trembled in utter helplessness, but as Salvatore finally released her, something shifted. She didn’t just crumble in defeat. She looked at me, truly looked at me, her eyes wide with a dawning, horrified recognition. Then, she whispered a single, choked word that stopped my heart.
