Previously: Natalie was just a struggling waitress who shared her lunch with a lonely old man. She never expected his wealthy son to pull up with life-changing news.

The Secret Owner

With trembling fingers, Natalie opened the beige folder. Her eyes scanned the documents, expecting to see a employment contract. Instead, the bold letters at the top of the page read: DEED OF TRANSFER. It wasn't just a manager's contract. The entire diner, including the property and the lease, had been purchased outright by Vance Industries. And there, listed as the sole and rightful owner, was her own name: Natalie Reyes.

Before she could even process the shock, the diner door flew open with a loud bang. Harold Henderson, the notoriously greedy and abusive diner owner, marched out onto the sidewalk. His face was flushed with anger, his eyes bulging as he looked at the expensive vehicles blocking his storefront.

"What is going on out here?" Henderson yelled, pointing a finger at Natalie. "Natalie! Get back inside and scrub the grills! And you people need to move these cars before I call the cops!"

The wealthy man in the cashmere coat slowly turned around. His cold, dark eyes fixed on Henderson, causing the angry owner to freeze mid-stride. The sheer aura of power radiating from the stranger was enough to silence the entire street.

"Are you Harold Henderson?" the man asked, his voice dripping with ice.
"Yeah, I am. And who the hell are you to ask?" Henderson demanded, trying to regain his bravado.
"My name is Julian Vance," the billionaire replied calmly. "And as of ten minutes ago, I own this property. Which means your lease is officially terminated, and you no longer have any authority here."

Henderson's face drained of color. Vance Industries was a multi-billion-dollar empire; their influence was legendary. Julian stepped closer to the trembling manager, his voice carrying a dangerous edge.

"For the past six months, my father, Arthur Vance, has been suffering from severe amnesia and dementia. He wandered away from our estate, lost and confused. While we searched the entire country for him, he lived on these very streets. You threw water on him. You called him trash. But Natalie fed him. She kept him alive."
