Previously: When struggling waitress Emily gave a rugged biker a free meal, she never expected to see him again. Years later, he rode back into her life with a life-changing surprise.

A Debt Paid in Full

Emily’s mind raced as she held the heavy stack of bills. It was enough to cover her immediate debts, but the diner’s troubles ran far deeper. Before she could find the words to thank him, a sleek black sedan pulled into the gravel lot, kicking up a cloud of dust. The doors popped open, and out stepped Harold Vance, the ruthless local developer who had been systematically buying up the town's historic properties.

Vance adjusted his expensive suit, looking at the assembled bikers with a sneer of disgust. He held a clipboard in one hand and a set of legal notices in the other. He had been harassing Emily for months, using predatory zoning laws to force her into bankruptcy so he could demolish the diner and build a highway strip mall.

"Well, Emily, today is the deadline," Vance said, his voice dripping with false sympathy. "I see you've found some new friends, but unless you have fifteen thousand dollars to cover the back taxes and the lease transfer by five o'clock, you need to pack your things."

Emily felt her chest tighten. The cash Rex had just handed her was generous, but it fell short of the massive legal fees and back taxes Vance had engineered against her. She braced herself for the inevitable, but Rex stepped forward, his towering frame completely eclipsing the sunlight and casting a long shadow over the developer.

"She doesn't owe you a single dime, Vance," Rex said, his voice low and dangerous like rumbling thunder.

Vance scoffed, trying to maintain his composure despite the dozen imposing men surrounding him. "This is legal business, old man. You have no standing here. This property is mine."

Rex reached into his pocket once more, but this time he didn't pull out cash. He pulled out a certified legal document, stamped by the county clerk's office just two hours prior. He thrust it directly in front of Vance's face.

"I bought the primary mortgage deed from the bank this morning," Rex revealed with a grim smile. "Which means I am the landlord now. And my first official act is to evict you from this property permanently."
