Standing frozen in the middle of the diner, Amanda unfolded the damp piece of paper. The elegant, shaky handwriting sent a sudden chill down her spine. The note read: "Amanda, my name is Evelyn. Richard is my estranged son, and he is a dangerous man. He plans to burn this diner down tonight for the insurance money, and he has set it up to frame you. Go to his office safe. The code is 10-24. Save yourself."

Amanda’s breath hitched. Before she could process the terrifying words, Richard’s office door slammed open. He walked out, his eyes darting around nervously as he clutched a heavy briefcase. He barked a few orders at Amanda, telling her she needed to stay late to deep-clean the kitchen alone, before rushing out into the rain.

Left entirely alone in the darkened diner, Amanda knew she had to act. Her hands shook violently as she crept down the dim hallway to Richard's office. She approached the heavy black safe in the corner and carefully spun the dial: 10... 24...

With a heavy metallic click, the safe door swung open. Inside, alongside stacks of cash, was a manila folder with Amanda's name on it. She opened it and gasped. Inside were forged receipts showing she had purchased gallons of highly flammable kerosene. He was going to destroy her life.

Suddenly, the back door of the diner creaked open. Heavy, hurried footsteps echoed down the hallway. Richard had returned early. Terrified, Amanda scrambled under the large wooden desk, pulling her knees to her chest as the office door swung open, revealing her boss carrying a large red plastic container.
