Previously: When struggling waitress Lily offered a rugged biker a free meal out of pure kindness, she never expected him to return with his entire crew and a life-changing surprise.

A Debt of Honor

Otis looked at her with eyes that suddenly seemed far softer than his rugged exterior suggested. He took off his sunglasses, revealing a deep, paternal warmth. "Your father was Thomas, wasn't he?" he asked quietly. Lily nodded, her breath catching in her throat. Otis sighed, looking around the vintage diner. "Thirty years ago, I was a broken young man with nothing to my name. Your father found me broken down on this very highway. He didn't call the cops. He fed me, helped me fix my bike, and gave me enough cash to get back on my feet. I promised him I'd pay him back one day, but life got in the way. When I saw your face today, I knew exactly whose daughter you were."

Before Lily could process this revelation, the screech of tires interrupted them. A sleek black sedan pulled into the dust-covered parking lot, parking right next to the line of motorcycles. Out stepped Mr. Vance, the ruthless local bank representative who had been ruthlessly hounding Lily for weeks. He held a clipboard, a smug, victorious smile plastered across his face.

"Well, Lily, today is the deadline," Vance said, ignoring the intimidating crowd of bikers. "Unless you have thirty thousand dollars in cash right now, you need to sign these foreclosure papers. A developer is buying this land tomorrow."

Lily felt her stomach drop. Even with the cash Otis had just handed her, she didn't know if it was enough to cover the massive interest and back-taxes Vance was demanding. She looked at Otis, her eyes pleading. Vance sneered, gesturing toward the bikers.

"Are these your new business partners? I doubt they can help you with real legal trouble," Vance mocked.

Otis stepped forward, his massive frame easily towering over the banker. The rest of his crew took a synchronized step forward, their engines idling like growling beasts.
