The next morning, the hospital room was quiet. Clara stood by the window, her hands trembling as the door clicked open. Vivian stepped inside, wearing a pristine designer coat and a carefully rehearsed expression of grief.

The officers quickly moved in, placing handcuffs on a screaming Vivian, charging her with attempted murder and fraud based on the evidence Clara had helped Julian secure overnight.

Weeks later, Julian was fully recovered and discharged from the hospital. As he walked out into the warm afternoon sun, Clara was waiting for him. He took her hand, this time with a gentle, loving squeeze.
