She Mocked A Humble Delivery Driver, Unaware He Owned The Entire Company
Previously: Olivia sneered at Marcus, a delivery driver she deemed beneath her. But when she dared him to prove ownership of a luxury Porsche, the truth shattered her polished world.
A ripple of hushed whispers passed through the growing crowd. Olivia’s smirk faltered for a fraction of a second, but she quickly recovered her composure, letting out a sharp, mocking laugh.
'Oh, please,' she scoffed, waving her hand dismissively. 'What are you going to do? Show me a toy key? Or did you find the owner's fob in a package you were supposed to deliver?'
Marcus didn't reply. Without breaking eye contact, he reached into his pocket. Slowly, he pulled out a matte-black key fob bearing the unmistakable Porsche crest. He pressed the unlock button. The sleek sports car responded instantly, its headlights flashing twice and its side mirrors unfolding with a quiet, mechanical hum.
The Tables Turn
The crowd gasped. Olivia froze, her face draining of color. She stared at the flashing lights, then at the key in Marcus's hand, her mind scrambling for an explanation. 'This is a joke,' she muttered, her voice losing its sharp edge.
'You’re just a valet, or a driver. You’re parking it for someone else. There is no way a nobody like you owns a machine like this!'
Just then, the heavy glass doors of the exclusive country club behind them opened. A middle-aged man in a tailored three-piece suit hurried out. It was Richard, Olivia’s father and the regional director of the city's largest logistics corporation. Olivia’s eyes lit up with relief. She pointed at Marcus.
'Dad! Thank goodness you're here!' she cried. 'This delivery guy is trying to steal a customer's car, or he's harassing people! Tell him to leave!'
Richard stopped dead in his tracks. He looked at Marcus, then at his daughter, his face turning a dangerous shade of pale. Instead of confronting Marcus, Richard stood up straight, adjusted his tie, and bowed his head slightly in deep respect.
