The Clash on the Plaza

The afternoon sun beat down relentlessly on the bustling university plaza, casting long, dramatic shadows across the concrete. Audrey clutched the strap of her vintage designer shoulder bag, navigating through the thick crowd of students rushing between classes. She wasn’t looking for trouble; she was just trying to get to her law seminar on time. But trouble, wearing a bright pink cropped hoodie and a smug grin, had other plans today.

Brooke stepped directly into Audrey’s path, her white pleated skirt swishing as she planted her feet. Behind her, a small clique of loyal sycophants gathered, instantly sensing blood in the water and pulling out their phones. Without warning, Brooke reached out and violently snatched the strap of Audrey's bag, jerking her forward.

"Fake! You think you can copy my bag?" Brooke sneered, her voice echoing loudly across the open plaza.

Several surrounding students stopped in their tracks, whispering and snickering mockingly at Audrey. Audrey felt a hot wave of anger rise in her chest, but her face remained a mask of pure, defiant calm. She had spent years practicing martial arts, a discipline her father insisted upon for self-defense. She wasn't about to let a spoiled bully humiliate her in front of the entire campus.

As Brooke lunged forward aggressively to shove her, Audrey’s reflexes took over. In one fluid, lightning-fast motion, Audrey grabbed Brooke’s outstretched arm, stepped inside her guard, and swept her legs. With a dull, heavy thud, Brooke slammed flat onto the hard pavement.

Shocked gasps erupted from the crowd. Before Brooke could even register what had happened, Audrey knelt coldly over her. She snatched Brooke’s own pristine designer bag, pulled it open with a sharp tug, and flipped the inner lining outward. There, stitched in messy, uneven threads, was a cheap label that read "LUCCI."

"The fake one was you," Audrey whispered coldly, looking down at her stunned, groaning rival.
