Before Amanda could process the little girl’s extraordinary words, William stepped forward from the shadows. His heavy boots crunched on the fresh snow as he approached the bench. Amanda braced herself, expecting the man to apologize for his daughter’s forwardness and quickly pull her away. Instead, as William got closer and the streetlamp illuminated Amanda’s face, he froze. His eyes widened in absolute disbelief, and the color drained from his face.

"Elena?" William whispered, his voice cracking with an emotion so intense it shook his entire frame.

Amanda blinked, looking around as if he were speaking to someone else.

"I... my name is Amanda," she stammered, pulling her thin cardigan tighter around her shoulders.

William dropped to his knees in the cold snow right in front of her, completely ignoring the freezing slush. He reached out, his hands trembling as he gently took her hands in his. Chloe stood beside him, watching silently with a knowing, hopeful smile.

"No, it’s you. I would know those eyes anywhere," William wept, tears streaming down his bearded cheeks. "Elena, it’s me. It’s William. And this is Chloe. Your daughter."

Amanda’s head began to throb. For three long years, she had lived on the streets with no memory of who she was, where she came from, or why she had a deep, aching void in her heart. She had been found near a riverbank after a terrible storm, with no identification and severe head trauma. The shelter staff had named her Amanda.

"We thought we lost you in the river after the car accident," William explained, his voice thick with tears. "The police searched for weeks. We never stopped praying. Chloe kept saying you were still out there somewhere. She refused to let me pack away your things."
