Previously: When Sarah’s bitter sister crashed her wedding to snatch the boy she abandoned years ago, a shocking family secret was exposed in front of everyone.

A Guardian's Victory

It was Arthur Pendelton, the lifelong attorney of Sarah and Emily’s late grandfather. He walked calmly toward the center of the room, holding a thick leather folder. The police officers paused, recognizing the authority in his demeanor. Emily’s triumphant smirk began to falter as Arthur looked at her with cold disappointment.

"Emily, I suggest you lower your voice and read this document before you make a fool of yourself," Arthur said quietly, handing her a paper.

Emily snatched the paper, her eyes scanning the lines quickly. As she read, the color drained from her face. Her hands began to shake, and the fierce confidence she had displayed moments ago vanished entirely.

Arthur turned to the police officers and the gathered guests, speaking clearly so everyone could hear. "Our grandfather was fully aware of Emily’s character. He knew she had abandoned Ethan. Therefore, the trust fund was structured with very specific, legally binding clauses. The funds are held in an independent corporate trust. No biological parent has any access to it. Furthermore, the trust explicitly names Sarah Miller as the sole legal guardian of both the child and his estate, fully recognizing the legally finalized adoption."

Arthur looked back at Emily, his voice stern. "And as for your claim of duress, we have the video confession you recorded six years ago when you left the baby, stating clearly that you wanted nothing to do with him. If you pursue this, you will be prosecuted for filing false police reports and attempted fraud."

The police officers immediately stepped back from Sarah and turned their attention to Emily. Realizing she had lost everything, Emily let out a frustrated shriek, threw the papers to the floor, and stormed out of the ballroom, escorted by the officers. The room erupted into cheers and applause. James wrapped his arms around Sarah and Ethan, holding them close as tears of relief flowed. True family is built on love, sacrifice, and devotion—not on blood or greed.
