Richard roared, his voice trembling with anger.

But as Richard stepped forward to grab Lupia’s shoulder, a wall of white gis moved to block him. Marcus stepped in front of the young girl, his arms crossed, his bearded face set in stone. Richard hissed, looking at his senior students.

Lupia stepped out from behind Marcus, her voice ringing clear and true.

"You are no master, Richard. You are a thief,"

she declared, pulling a thick manila folder from her gear bag and tossing it onto the mat.

Marcus picked up the papers, holding them up for everyone to see. He explained that while Sarah was recovering in the hospital, Richard had forged her signature on a buyout agreement, effectively stealing her fifty percent ownership of the academy. He had also embezzled thousands of dollars from the dojo's communal fund, which was meant for student scholarships. Helen and Marcus had been quietly investigating his fraud, but they had been too afraid of Richard's influence to speak up.
