Soldier Returns Home to Find Cruel Relatives Abusing His Helpless Grandmother
Previously: When Sergeant Leo Miller returned from deployment early, he expected a warm family reunion. Instead, he walked into a nightmare of cruelty and betrayal that demanded immediate justice.
Chloe shrieked in pain and shock as she hit the floor, scrambling backward like a cornered animal. Beatrice leaped up from the floral sofa, her face twisting from smug amusement into absolute horror. She pointed a trembling finger at Leo, her voice shrill with anger.
"Leo! Are you insane? You just assaulted my daughter! We are calling the police on you!" Beatrice yelled, rushing to help Chloe to her feet.
Leo didn't flinch. He knelt beside Margaret, gently helping her sit up. He wiped the dirty water from her face, his heart breaking at the sight of her bruised cheek and terrified eyes. Margaret clung to his combat uniform, sobbing quietly, whispering for him to be careful.

"Call them," Leo said, his voice dangerously low and calm. "Please, call the police. Let them see what you’ve been doing to an eighty-year-old woman in her own home. Let them see the bruises you left on her."
Beatrice sneered, trying to regain her composure. "Her own home? Don't be ridiculous, Leo. Your grandfather left this house to me. Margaret is only living here out of our charity. The least she can do is earn her keep."
A cold smile spread across Leo's face. For months, he had been sending his military paychecks directly to Beatrice, trusting her promise to use the funds to hire a professional caregiver for Margaret. He had also been doing some research before his return. His grandfather had warned him about Beatrice's greed before he passed.
"You think I'm stupid, Aunt Beatrice?" Leo asked, standing up to face them. "I spoke with Grandfather's lawyer before my deployment ended. The deed to this house was never left to you. It belongs entirely to Margaret. You forged her signature on a power of attorney while she was recovering in the hospital last year, and you've been pocketing my military paychecks while treating her like a slave."
