Helen stood panting in the corner of the kitchen, her shock quickly turning back into bitter indignation. She straightened her apron, trying to regain her composure, but her hands shook with rage. "You don't understand, David," she hissed, pointing a trembling finger at Emily. "She is destroying this family! She is a liar and a thief!"
