The note was a desperate confession. Luke explained that his new wife, Vanessa, had taken complete control of their finances and was planning to force Diane out of her beloved home. Vanessa had secretly intercepted the life insurance policy left by Diane’s late husband, leaving Diane on the brink of foreclosure.
