"Are you insane, Leo?!" Chelsea screamed, wiping the freezing water from her eyes. Her makeup was ruined, smudged black lines running down her cheeks. "Look at what you did to my dress! I pay for everything in this house! I could throw both of you out on the street right now!"

Leo stepped forward, his knuckles white. "You think because you pay the bills, you own Mom? She raised us, Chelsea! She sacrificed her health, her career, and her life to make sure we had a future. And now you make her kneel on the floor and wash your feet like a slave? You’ve changed, and it's disgusting."

Martha scrambled to her feet, trying to step between her angry children. "Please, stop it, both of you! Leo, he didn't mean it... and Chelsea, honey, let's just calm down." Martha's voice was shaking, but there was a deeper panic in her eyes that went beyond the wet carpet.

"No, Mom, I won't calm down!" Chelsea sneered, grabbing her designer purse from the side table. "Since you let your precious son attack me, maybe it's time you both learn your lesson. I'm stopping the mortgage payments. Let's see how long you survive in this house without my money."

Leo looked from the paper to his sister, his anger turning into cold confusion. "Chelsea... what is this? This says the house was transferred to your name six months ago, but it also says you haven't paid the mortgage in four months. Where has the money Mom gave you been going?"
