As Matthew basked in the applause of the crowd, bowing and waving down the aisle, Chloe scrambled to her feet. Her heart raced, not from the physical exertion of the stunt, but from the raw panic in Brittany’s voice. She forced a bright, theatrical smile for the cameras, nodding to the guests as she and Brittany quickly retreated to the private vestry room behind the altar, leaving Matthew to entertain the crowd.
