The judge’s gavel banged like thunder, but the noise was drowned out by the frantic whispers of the spectators. Arthur's face was a mask of cold fury, his fingers digging into Leo’s shoulder as he tried to drag the boy out of the courtroom. But Leo stood his ground, his eyes locked on the third row of the gallery.

"Silence in the court!" the judge bellowed. "Young man, you are on the verge of being held in contempt. Explain yourself immediately."

Leo took a deep breath, ignoring the silent, deadly threats radiating from his stepfather. He pointed his finger directly at Julian, Arthur’s biological son and Leo's stepbrother, who was sitting in the gallery wearing a tailored grey suit. "My stepbrother, Julian, is the one who stole my mother's sapphire necklace," Leo declared, his voice echoing clearly through the high-ceilinged room. "He owes hundreds of thousands of dollars to dangerous bookies, and he took the necklace to pay off his debts."

The courtroom gasped again. Arthur stepped in front of Leo, trying to shield Julian from the judge's view.

"Your Honor, this is absurd!" Arthur protested loudly. "My stepson is grieving his mother and is clearly mentally unstable. He is making baseless accusations to cause a scene!"

"It’s not baseless," Leo countered, pulling a small black flash drive from his pocket and holding it high for the judge to see. "I have the security footage from the private study that my stepfather deleted from the main server. I backed it up. It clearly shows Julian entering the vault, taking the necklace, and later, it shows Arthur planting the duplicate piece in Clara's room to frame her."

Clara let out a soft gasp, covering her mouth as the realization of the depth of the betrayal washed over her. She had been a pawn in a wealthy family's game of chess, sacrificed to save a spoiled heir. Arthur lunged for the flash drive, but the court bailiffs stepped in, blocking his path.
