Previously: When Alice's cruel stepmother forced her to scrub the floors for an elite buyer, she didn't expect the billionaire to cancel the deal and reveal a shocking family secret.

A Father's Final Gift

Elizabeth collapsed onto her knees, the very same wet marble floor she had forced Alice to scrub moments earlier. The heavy oak doors burst open, and three police officers entered the vestibule. William handed them the documents from his briefcase, along with a digital recorder containing a full confession Elizabeth had unwittingly made weeks prior during a tapped phone conversation.

As the officers escorted a weeping, hysterical Elizabeth out of the mansion in handcuffs, the heavy silence of the grand vestibule returned. Alice stood in the center of the room, tears of relief finally spilling over her cheeks. She looked at William, still unable to comprehend the sudden shift in her destiny.

"My father... he didn't forget me?" Alice whispered, her voice cracking with emotion.

William smiled gently and walked over to her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Your father loved you more than life itself, Alice. He knew Elizabeth would try to usurp your inheritance, so he devised a plan. He left the estate to me in a temporary trust, knowing Elizabeth would try to sell it to me to liquidate the assets quickly. The moment she signed the intent-to-sell contract, she legally committed fraud, allowing us to seize everything back without a lengthy court battle."

William handed Alice a gold key from his pocket. "This house, the family fortune, and your father's legacy—they all belong to you now. You will never have to scrub another floor, and you will never have to live in fear again."

Alice held the key tight against her chest, looking up at the grand white pillars. For the first time in years, the cold marble mansion felt like a warm, welcoming home. True justice had finally prevailed, proving that a father's love can reach from beyond the grave to shield his child from the darkest of storms.
