My Stepsister Forced Me to Clean the Floor, but the Billionaire Knew My True Identity
Previously: When Katherine humiliated a humble cleaning girl in a luxury lobby, she didn't realize the powerful billionaire watching was about to strip away everything she owned to protect his secret daughter.
A Father's Justice
Victoria stood tall, waving the paper in the air.
"Not so fast, Edward,"she sneered, her eyes gleaming with malice.
"Before Sophie's mother died, she signed over full guardianship to me. Under the terms of this legal custody agreement, any inheritance Sophie receives before her twenty-fifth birthday belongs entirely to me as her guardian. If you want your daughter back, you will have to hand over your empire."
Katherine’s smug expression returned. She laughed mockingly at Sophie.
"You see? You're still nothing. Even your precious father can't save you without ruining himself."
But Edward didn't look defeated. Instead, a slow, dangerous smile spread across his face. He stood up, pulling Sophie gently to her feet behind him. He opened his brown leather case and pulled out a thick blue folder.
"I knew you would try this, Victoria,"Edward said calmly.
"Which is why I spent the last three hours with the state prosecutor before coming here. This folder contains evidence of the systemic abuse, labor exploitation, and financial fraud you and Katherine have committed against Sophie for the last ten years."
Victoria's face drained of color as Edward continued.
"Under federal law, any guardianship agreement is instantly voided upon proof of felony abuse. Not only is your claim worthless, but the police are waiting outside to arrest you both for human trafficking and fraud."
Before the two women could speak, police officers entered the lobby, their handcuffs gleaming under the bright lights. As Katherine and Victoria were led away in tears, Edward turned back to Sophie, wrapping his arms around her in a warm, protective embrace. For the first time in her life, Sophie felt safe. She realized that her days of scrubbing floors were over, and she finally had a father who would protect her at all costs. True family is defined not by the papers we hold, but by the love and justice we are willing to fight for.
