Previously: When famous culinary judge Steven tasted a young contestant's steak, the familiar flavor brought him to tears. He never expected her mother's secret recipe to solve a fifteen-year-old family mystery.

The Search for Sarah

The executive producer rushed onto the stage, waving his hands to cut the live feed. The cameras stopped rolling, but the heavy silence in the room remained unbroken. Steven, ignoring the crew and the whispering audience, walked around the judging table and gently took Grace by the arm, guiding her away from the bright stage lights and into his private dressing room.

Once behind closed doors, Steven took off his glasses and wiped his eyes, his hands still shaking.

"My sister, Sarah, was a culinary genius,"

he began, his voice thick with emotion.

"But fifteen years ago, after a bitter family argument about her pursuing her dreams instead of the family business, she walked out. She changed her name, cut off all contact, and took nothing with her except her handwritten recipe notebook. We searched for her for years, but it was as if she had vanished off the face of the earth."

Grace listened, her heart pounding wildly in her chest. She stared at the man who was feared by every chef in the country, now looking so fragile and broken.

"My mother's name was Sarah,"

Grace said softly, her own voice trembling.

"But she never talked about her family. She always told me that her past was a closed book, and that she had to start over from scratch. She raised me alone, working two jobs in a small diner just to keep us afloat."

Steven leaned forward, his eyes searching Grace’s face, desperately looking for a resemblance he had missed before.

"Did she... did she ever mention a brother?"

Grace hesitated, a memory suddenly sparking in her mind.

"She told me once, when she was very sick, that she had a brother named Steven who loved her cooking more than anyone else in the world. She said she was too proud to go back to him after how they parted. I thought it was just a comforting story."
