The air inside the elite showroom of Sterling Jewelers was thick with the scent of expensive perfume and the silent pressure of wealth. Under the warm, glowing lights, glass display cases housed millions of dollars in gems. Arthur, an elderly man in a faded khaki windbreaker, held his granddaughter Lily's hand. Lily, wearing her favorite floral jacket, looked with wide-eyed wonder at a dazzling diamond necklace.

She pointed a small, trembling finger at the glittering jewels.

"Grandpa, if I ever become rich, I'll come back for this one," she whispered, her eyes shining with pure hope.

Before Arthur could answer, a sharp voice cut through the warm ambient air. Sarah, a senior saleswoman dressed in a crisp white blouse and a perfectly tailored dark blazer, leaned over the counter. Her expression was cold and mocking.

"Don't stand there dreaming over things you'll never touch," she snapped, her eyes scanning Arthur's worn jacket with obvious distaste. "This isn't a museum for tourists."

Arthur's face flushed with embarrassment, but he stepped forward defensively, squeezing his granddaughter's hand.

"Please, she's only a child. There's no harm in looking," he pleaded softly, trying to shield Lily from the woman's harsh gaze.

Just then, Richard, the store supervisor, walked up from behind the counter. Clad in a sharp, dark grey suit, he exuded an aura of absolute authority. Instead of diffusing the situation, he sneered.

"Then teach her her place before bringing her in here," Richard declared coldly. He gestured toward the security guard, but then his eyes drifted to a gold-framed portrait hanging on the dark wood wall behind the register. "Do you even know who founded this store?" he asked arrogantly.
