A Stranger Bought Me Food While I Was Homeless, Then Realized My True Identity
Previously: When heavily pregnant Grace was caught eating scraps at a fast-food joint, a kind stranger stepped in to buy her a meal—only to realize she was the woman his family had spent months looking for.
A Shocking Confrontation
James walked out of the restaurant to check on Grace, wanting to ensure she had a safe place to spend the night. But as he stepped under the streetlamp and got a clear look at her face, he gasped. The color drained from his face as he stared at her dirty blonde hair and familiar eyes.
"Grace?" James whispered, his voice trembling. "Is that really you?"
Grace looked up, bewildered. "How do you know my name?" she asked softly.

"I'm James," he explained, kneeling beside her. "Carter’s older brother. I've been living in Europe for years, but I heard what my family did to you. I just didn't know they left you like this."
James was disgusted by his brother's cowardice and his mother Helen's cruelty. He immediately took Grace to a warm diner, fed her a proper meal, and drove her to a private clinic to ensure the baby was healthy. However, their safety was short-lived. As they waited in the clinic lobby, the doors burst open. In marched Helen and Carter, flanked by two high-priced lawyers.
Helen’s eyes flashed with venom as she spotted Grace. She completely ignored her eldest son, marching straight to Grace and throwing a thick packet of legal documents onto her lap.
"You are going to sign these papers right now, Grace," Helen hissed. "You will surrender all parental rights to that child the moment it is born. If you refuse, our lawyers will declare you an unfit, homeless mother, and we will make sure you spend years in prison for trying to extort our family."
Carter stood silently behind his mother, staring at the floor, too cowardly to meet Grace's terrified gaze. Grace clutched her stomach, trembling violently as tears streamed down her face. She felt completely trapped, staring at the powerful family that had already ruined her life once.
But before she could break down, James stepped directly in front of her, shielding her from his mother's icy glare. His face was a mask of pure, dangerous rage.
