Previously: When a young stranger knelt to wash Ava's feet in her driveway, her protective father tried to stop him. But one simple question exposed a shocking medical truth.

A Shocking Accusation

Harold took a step forward, his fists clenching. "That is enough," he barked, his voice shaking with a strange mixture of anger and fear.

"You are a neighborhood handyman, not a doctor. Pack up your things and leave our property immediately before I call the police."

But Caleb stood his ground, rising slowly from the concrete. He wiped his wet hands on his jeans, keeping his calm gaze fixed on Harold.

"I was a top student in physical therapy at the university before my mother fell ill and I had to drop out to care for her,"
Caleb explained.
"I know spinal trauma, Harold. If Ava’s nerves were permanently severed, she wouldn't have felt that localized pressure, and her toes wouldn't have reacted. Her muscles are fully capable of moving. They are just incredibly weak—and heavily sedated."

Ava looked between the two men, her breath catching in her throat.

"Sedated? What do you mean, Caleb? I only take the vitamins my dad gives me every morning to help with my circulation."

Caleb pointed to the small plastic cup sitting on Ava’s wheelchair tray, containing a lingering residue of a thick, amber liquid. He picked it up and sniffed it. His suspicion was confirmed.

"This isn't a vitamin blend, Ava. This smells exactly like a heavy dose of Baclofen mixed with a powerful sedative. In these doses, it would completely paralyze your motor function and keep your legs dormant day after day."

Ava turned her eyes to her father, searching his face for a denial. But Harold had gone deathly pale. His confident posture crumbled, and he couldn't meet his daughter's gaze. The silence that fell over the driveway was deafening. Ava's voice cracked as the realization began to dawn on her.

"Dad... is this true? What have you been giving me?" she sobbed.

What have you been giving me?" she sobbed.
