Previously: When a runaway car crashed through a warehouse store, Sarah thought she had lost her husband forever. But a dropped phone amidst the rubble revealed a secret she never expected.

The Rubble and the Revelation

For a terrifying moment, Sarah couldn't breathe. The air was thick with gray dust, smoke, and the sharp scent of burning rubber. Screams of panicked shoppers echoed through the cavernous building. Ignoring the instinct to run for safety, Sarah scrambled forward, her heart hammering against her ribs. All thoughts of their argument vanished, replaced by a desperate, consuming dread. She had to find Mark.

She stumbled through the debris, her eyes watering as she called his name. "Mark! Mark, where are you?" she cried out, her voice cracking with terror. She spotted the shopping cart he had been pushing; it was crumpled like a tin can against a collapsed display of heavy boxes. There was no sign of him. Panic seized her, tighter and colder than before. She began clawing at the fallen merchandise, fearing the worst.

As she cleared a path, her foot brushed against something solid on the concrete floor. It was Mark’s phone, its screen cracked but still glowing. Just as she picked it up, a notification popped up on the lock screen. It was a text message from an unsaved number, reading: "Did you tell her about us yet? I can't keep hiding this."

Sarah stared at the screen, the breath knocked out of her for a second time, but this time not from the crash. The words seemed to burn into her eyes. In the midst of a life-or-death crisis, a sickening wave of betrayal washed over her. Was this why he had been so distant? Was this why he had walked away? Before she could process the heartbreaking implication, a familiar voice called out through the dust.
