Leo's boots hit the dusty ground of the rodeo arena with a heavy thud. Around him, the world dissolved into a chaotic blur of bright, sun-drenched light and screaming spectators. The announcer's voice boomed through the loudspeakers, frantic and terrified.

"Hey! No! Kid, get out of there! Somebody stop him!"

But Leo didn't run. He couldn't. His chest heaved beneath his light-colored vest as he stood directly in the path of Ranger, a massive black bull known for his lethal temper. The beast halted, his heavy hooves kicking up dust, his dark eyes locked onto the fragile human standing before him.

"Please, look at me,"

Leo pleaded. Above him, a spectator shouted, "What is that kid doing?" Leo ignored them all. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a faded red bandana, holding it high.

"My dad said you'd know this. He loved you more than anything."

The bull snorted, hot steam billowing from his nostrils, but he didn't charge. A nearby cowboy screamed, "Son, move!" Leo didn't budge. He stepped closer, placing his hand gently near the bull's massive head. Whispering into the animal's ear, he said,

"If you remember him, don't leave me too, Ranger."

The arena fell into absolute, breathless silence. Leo's father, Marcus, had been a legendary bull rider who died in a tragic accident a year ago. Everyone believed Ranger was a dangerous beast who had gone wild after Marcus's passing. But Leo knew the truth. This bull wasn't a killer; he was grieving.
