Thomas began to sweat, desperately trying to apologize. "It was a misunderstanding! I was just trying to protect the business—"

"A business that operates on my property," Marcus said calmly. "Effective immediately, your lease is terminated. And as for your position here, you are finished. I will be purchasing the franchise rights to this cafe by tomorrow morning."

Thomas looked as if he might faint. He slowly gathered his things and walked out into the cold, rainy night, finally experiencing the neglect he had shown to others.

Marcus turned to Leo, who was still trying to process the rapid turn of events. "Leo, a heart like yours is rare in this world. Starting tomorrow, you are the new general manager of this cafe, with a salary that will easily cover your college tuition. And my company will pay for your studies in full."
