However, due to a specific legal clause, the executor of the trust—Tanner's legal guardian—would have full control over the funds until Tanner reached adulthood.

Stacy didn't want to save Tanner from foster care; she wanted to secure the legal right to manage millions of dollars.

"I have the financial resources, the lawyers, and the perfect home," Stacy whispered coldly. "The judge will never grant custody to an unemployed teenager in a run-down apartment. If you fight me, I will make sure you never see your brother again."
