The grand hall erupted into absolute chaos. Guests shrieked as Julian rushed past the shattered glass to his grandmother’s side. Margaret lay trembling on the floor, her violet dress stained with spilled wine. Evelyn, meanwhile, remained standing, her chest heaving as her maniacal laughter slowly subsided into a chilling, self-satisfied grin. She made no move to help, nor did she offer any explanation. She simply watched Julian cradle his grandmother, her eyes cold and calculating.

Julian gently lifted Margaret, his heart pounding against his ribs. "Grandma, are you okay? Speak to me, please," he pleaded, his voice cracking with emotion. Margaret gasped for air, her frail hand gripping Julian’s tuxedo lapel with surprising strength. She looked past him, pointing a trembling finger directly at Evelyn.

"Don't let her get away, Julian," Margaret whispered hoarsely, her voice carrying through the quieted room. "She didn't push me by accident. She was trying to silence me."

Julian looked from his grandmother to his new bride, confusion warring with the anger in his chest. Evelyn’s grin finally faltered, replaced by a momentary flash of panic. Julian demanded answers, his voice echoing off the high ceilings. "What is she talking about, Evelyn? What did you do?"

Margaret struggled to sit up, aided by two shocked guests. "Before the ceremony, I went to the bridal suite to give her my mother's ring," Margaret revealed, tears spilling down her wrinkled cheeks. "But I walked in on her talking to a stranger. She was holding a small vial. I heard her say that once the marriage license was signed, you would suffer a sudden, tragic accident. She was planning to poison you, Julian, just like she did to her previous husband for his inheritance!"
