Previously: When wealthy Margaret publicly humiliates Grace, calling her a worthless orphan, she tears off her necklace. But when Arthur recognizes the royal crest, a dark family secret is finally dragged into the light.

The silence in the ballroom was absolute. Margaret took a step back, her hand flying to her mouth as she tried to regain her composure. She attempted to laugh it off, but the tremor in her voice betrayed her panic.

The Secret of the Crest

"Arthur, don't be ridiculous," Margaret stammered, casting a nervous glance at the whispering crowd. "It's just a cheap piece of junk. She probably stole it."
"This is no cheap trinket, Mother," Arthur said, his voice cold as steel. "This is the ancestral seal of the House of Sterling. The one that belonged to my father’s late sister, Victoria, who mysteriously disappeared thirty years ago. The sister whose rightful inheritance you seized when you married into this family."

A collective gasp rippled through the guests. Grace stood trembling, holding her baby closer, completely bewildered by the revelation. She had lived her entire life in a rundown orphanage, knowing nothing of her origin except for the silver necklace left in her crib.

Arthur turned to Grace, his eyes softening with deep emotion. He looked at her face, truly looking at her for the first time, seeing the striking resemblance to the portraits hanging in the estate's private gallery.

"You have her eyes," Arthur whispered. "You are Victoria's daughter. You are the rightful heir to the Sterling estate."

Margaret’s face flushed red with fury. She realized her decades of lies were crumbling in a matter of seconds. She had spent a lifetime burying the truth, ensuring that Victoria’s child would never be found so that she could secure the fortune for herself. She had even orchestrated the orphanage placement, never expecting the girl to return with the one heirloom she couldn't destroy.

"She is a nobody!" Margaret screamed, losing all sense of decorum. "I built this empire! I won't let some nameless stray ruin my family!"

But Arthur wasn't listening to his mother anymore. He turned to the security guards standing near the entrance.
