The Gala Heiress: A Half-Medallion Reveals a Twin Nobody Knew
Previously: A wealthy couple's gala turns into a nightmare when an orphan girl's half-medallion matches their daughter's — revealing a twin they thought was lost forever.
The Truth Beneath the Star-Rose Birthmark
The sealed file sat on the desk, unopened, like a coiled snake. Lorenzo's hands were shaking as he reached for it. Sofia gripped Charlotte's shoulder, her knuckles white. I held my breath, the half-medallion cold against my chest.
"I don't care who her biological father is," Lorenzo said, his voice low. "She is my daughter. I raised her. I love her."

But the lawyer shook his head. "It's not about who the father is. It's about the inheritance. The Moretti trust only recognizes children by blood. If Charlotte isn't your biological daughter, she loses everything."
My heart ached for Charlotte, but then the lawyer opened the file and froze. "Wait. This is…" He looked up, stunned. "The paternity test was switched. The original lab report indicates that Charlotte's biological father is—" He paused, squinting. "It's you, Mr. Moretti. It's your DNA. But there's a second sample here, labeled 'Chloe.' And it matches too."
Lorenzo's face went white. "Twins? But how?"
Sofia stepped forward, her voice trembling. "Margaret and I were pregnant at the same time. She had a difficult labor, and the doctor…" She pressed a hand to her chest. "He told us one baby died. But Margaret never believed it. She searched for years. Then she found you, Chloe, and she was going to bring you home. But she died before she could."
Tears streamed down my face. "So she wasn't paid to disappear. She was trying to find me."
"Yes," Sofia said, pulling me into her arms. "And she loved you more than anything."
Lorenzo knelt before us, taking both mine and Charlotte's hands. "You are both my daughters. By blood, by love, by every law that matters. And I will never let anyone take either of you from me again."
But Constance was still outside, and I could hear her shouting, "They're lying! That girl is a fraud!"
Lorenzo stood, his jaw set. "Constance, you are finished. I have evidence that you altered the adoption records to hide Chloe's existence. You paid off the doctor and forged the stillborn certificate. And you did it to control the Moretti fortune."
Constance's face went pale as a guard appeared behind her. "You can't prove that!"
"I already have," the lawyer said, holding up a USB drive. "The hospital's security footage, the bank transfers, and a signed confession from the doctor."
Constance staggered backward, her eyes wide with terror. As she was led away, I felt a weight lift off my chest. The truth was out, and I was not alone.
That night, I lay in a bedroom in the Moretti mansion, Charlotte beside me, our medallions hanging together on a single hook. Sofia sat on the edge of the bed, stroking our hair.
"You're both safe with us. Forever."
And as I drifted off to sleep, I realized that home wasn't a place. It was the arms of the family who chose you, the sister who shared your face, and the love that had survived every lie. The morning came with laughter and tears, and I knew my mother was smiling down from heaven. We had found each other, and that was all that mattered.
