A Sudden Disruption at the Altar

The rustic chapel was bathed in warm, natural light, the scent of fresh white lilies filling the air. It was supposed to be the happiest day of Emily's life. Standing at the altar in her elegant satin gown, she looked at James, her handsome groom, believing her future was secure. But just as the minister began to speak, the heavy wooden doors at the back of the chapel burst open.

Running down the aisle was Emma, Emily's nine-year-old sister. Her auburn hair was disheveled, and she was clutching a vintage black camera tightly against her chest. The guests gasped, whispering in confusion. James’s face instantly contorted from a warm smile into a mask of pure fury.

"Get her out of here! Now!" James screamed, his voice echoing off the chapel's high wooden beams.

Emily’s eyes welled with tears as Emma bypassed the ushers and scrambled up the altar steps, seeking refuge behind the heavy folds of Emily’s satin wedding dress. James stepped forward aggressively, his hands clenched into fists, his classic black tuxedo suddenly looking like the uniform of a villain. "So what? She's just a child, she's lying!" James snapped, trying to pull Emma away.

But Emma stood her ground, looking up at her trembling sister with absolute sincerity. "The camera heard you, Emily," she whimpered, her voice cracking. "He said he used you. He said it to her."

Emily stared at the vintage camera in Emma’s hands. It wasn't just a camera; it was an old device their late grandfather had modified with a high-quality digital recording function. Emma pressed the play button. A crackling but unmistakably clear voice played through the chapel's microphone system: "After the wedding, I'll take control of her family's trust fund. I don't care about her. She's just a means to an end..."

James watched in sheer, suffocating panic as the recording continued to play, his face draining of all color.
