Vanessa walked out of the restroom, leaving the three girls whimpering on the floor. But the battle was far from over. Rumors at Oakridge High traveled faster than light, and by the next period, whispered rumors about the restroom showdown had filled the hallways. Brittany, furious and deeply humiliated, immediately ran to Principal Vance's office, determined to use her family's immense influence to get Vanessa expelled.

Half an hour later, Vanessa was summoned to the principal's office. When she walked in, she saw Brittany sitting next to her mother, Mrs. Harrington, a prominent school board donor. Brittany wore a large adhesive bandage over her forehead, successfully hiding the lipstick cross, and was sobbing dramatically.

"This girl is a violent delinquent!" Mrs. Harrington demanded, pointing a manicured finger at Vanessa. "She attacked my daughter and her friends for absolutely no reason! I want her expelled immediately, or I will withdraw my funding!"

Principal Vance looked stressed, turning his gaze to Vanessa. "Vanessa, do you have anything to say for yourself? Assault is a very serious charge."

Vanessa remained remarkably calm. She sat down, looked directly at Brittany, and smiled faintly. "I didn't attack anyone, Principal Vance. I defended myself against a coordinated assault. And I think we all know why Brittany targeted me."

Brittany’s face went pale under her makeup. She tried to interrupt, but Vanessa continued, her voice steady and clear. Vanessa's father was a retired police detective who had spent years cleaning up local youth gang activities. Just two weeks prior, his investigation had led to the arrest of Brittany’s older brother for drug distribution on school grounds. Brittany’s campaign of terror against Vanessa wasn't just typical teenage jealousy; it was a calculated act of revenge for her family's ruined reputation.

Vanessa pulled a small, silver flash drive from her pocket and placed it on the principal's desk. "The restroom might not have cameras, but the hallway right outside does. It clearly shows them dragging me inside."
