Previously: Sentenced to face a monstrous beast in the grand arena, young Leo prepared for his demise—until the creature did something that exposed a royal betrayal to the entire kingdom.

The True Savior Rises

The dark crystal pulsed, unleashing a wave of black lightning directly toward Leo. But the loyal black lion leaped in front of the boy, absorbing the brunt of the dark energy to save its master. The beast roared in agony, falling to the sand as the crowd screamed in horror. Seeing his companion hurt, a surge of dormant power awakened within Leo. He rushed forward, placing his hand on the lion's head, and the deep scar on his arm began to glow with a brilliant, golden light.

The pure energy of Leo's true heroic spirit flowed through the beast, creating a blinding shield of light that illuminated the entire colosseum. The dark lightning bounced off the barrier, magnifying in strength as it reflected directly back at the royal balcony. The blast struck the dark crystal in King Robert's hand, shattering it into a thousand harmless pieces. As the dark magic dissolved, the illusion of youth and strength faded from the King, revealing him as a weak, frail coward who fell to his knees, weeping in fear as his stolen power vanished.

High Cleric Thomas descended the stairs into the arena, followed by the royal guards, who immediately knelt before Leo in reverence. The Cleric placed a gentle hand on Leo's shoulder. "The heavens have spoken," Thomas announced to the silent, awe-struck crowd. "The crown belongs to the one who protects his people, not the one who steals their glory. Hail King Leo!"

The black lion stood up, fully healed by the golden light, and nudged Leo's hand affectionately. The crowd erupted into deafening cheers, chanting the name of their new, rightful protector. Leo looked out at the sea of faces, realizing his years of suffering were finally over. True leadership is not stolen through lies and crowns, but earned through sacrifice and the loyalty of those we protect.
