Jack’s large, calloused hand trembled as his fingers brushed the edges of the faded photograph. The rugged exterior of the tough biker seemed to fracture right before Macy's eyes. His breath hitched, and for a moment, the fearsome man looked incredibly fragile.

"Where did you get this?"
he asked, his voice thick with unshed tears.

"My mother kept it in her jewelry box,"
Macy replied, her heart hammering against her ribs.
"She told me that the man in this photo was the only one who could tell me the truth about the night of the accident. The night I lost my legs, and the night my father vanished."

Before Jack could answer, Helen stepped forward, her face pale.

"We are leaving, Macy. This man is dangerous. He has always been trouble!"

"I didn't abandon you, Macy. I was run off the road that night. I woke up in a hospital weeks later with this scar and no memory of who I was.
